Project Overview

Wanganella Wind farm (The Project) may host up to 105 wind turbines with a generation capacity of up to 840 MW and up to a 600 MW / 2400 MWh battery energy storage system. The Project may generate an estimated 2,500 GWh per annum and power up to 490,000 homes in NSW.

Planning and Environment Approvals

The Wanganella Wind Farm is a declared State Significant Development under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and the Planning Secretary’s environmental assessment requirements were issued on 18 December 2025.

Equis is currently consulting with all relevant parties and preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for submission to the Planning Secretary. The EIS will be placed on public exhibition following lodgement.

The project has been referred to the Environment minister under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

Community Benefit Sharing

We are focused and committed to providing long term benefits to the communities that host our projects. We look forward to working with the community to design a community benefit program that fosters positive economic and social outcomes and provides lasting value to the community. We aim to create long-term job opportunities over the life of the project and support skills development opportunities for local people. Community benefit funding will only be available when the project is operational.
